The burial of former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile is ongoing in his rural home in Mbui Nzau, Makueni County.
High profile leaders from the region have attended the funeral, including former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and her Machakos counterpart Alfred Mutua just to name but a few. ODM leader Raila Odinga is also in attendance.
Ndile, 57, died at the Nairobi Hospital on May 30, 2021 after a long illness. He is survived by 16 children, six of whom are adopted.
The Tip Tip Party leader has been described as a “tactful leader who cared about the people.”
He served as Kibwezi MP from 2002 to 2007, winning the seat on the National Alliance Rainbow Coalition wave.
