The new curfew orders placed across the thirteen counties of Western and Nyanza regions of Kenya seem to have caught not just the residents but also security agencies in the area unawares.
On Saturday evening, police and young men engaged in a cat and mouse game, when the latter was enforcing the new 7 pm curfew.
The youth were hellbent on enjoying the Germany VS Portugal EURO 2020 match.
It is now emerging that on the same day, six police officers were among the twelve (12) people arrested for breaching curfew protocols.
The 12 were arrested at 8 pm within Black Pearl Bar and Restaurant at Nyamasaria shopping centre.
According to a police report filed at Kondele Police Station, all the 12 individuals appeared drunk when they were taken into custody.
Peculiarly, five of the police officers were from Nyakacho Police Station in Kericho while one was from Central Police Station in Nakuru.
