Jubilee bites the dust as UDA’s John Wanjiku clinches Kiambaa Parliamentary seat

Youthful John Njuguna Wanjiku is the MP-elect for Kiambaa Constituency.

Wanjiku who run on the UDA Party ticket garnered 21,733 votes. His closest competitor Jubilee’s Kariri Njama got 21,263 votes.

Wanjiku broke down in tears at a Press conference hosted by UDA. The hotly-contested by-election was occasioned by March 2021 death of incumbent Paul Koinange.

The constituency has 96,020 voters. The voter turn out was 45.51%, meaning about 43,700 people cast their votes.

“It has been a tough journey but we tried as much as we can. There was a lot of voter bribery and intimidation but finally, God has granted us the victory,” said the MP-elect.

” Despite all the evil schemes and misuse of government resources and time to subvert the will of the people, the Lord God protected your victory. To God be the Glory,” says Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.
