Newly-elected Kiambaa MP John Njuguna Wanjiku, alias “Ka Wanjiku” now joins the list of youthful legislators in the current Parliament.
Wanjiku, 35, bagged the hotly-contested seat with 21,733 votes. His main competitor, Jubilee’s Kariri Njama, 52, followed closely with 21,263 votes.
Wanjiku run on a UDA Party ticket. The party is affiliated with Deputy President William Ruto. In only a few months, the party has gained popularity especially among the youth for its ‘hustler narrative’ that champions for economic inclusion of jobless youthful.
Other youthful MPs in the House include Kiharu’s Ndindi Nyoro (36), Nyali’s Mohammed Ali, Molo’s Kimani Kuria, Gilgil’s Martha Wangari, Igembe South’s John Paul Mwirigi (27), Dagoretti South’s John Kiarie, and Nixon Korir of Langata.
