HELB warns of fraudsters demanding KSh2,200 to activate accounts

The Higher Educations and Loans Board (HELB) is warning Kenyans not to fall prey to con artists masquerading as HELB officials.

According to the board, there is an email notifying HELB customers to activate their accounts at a fee. HELB now says that both the content and the address are fake.

HELB: “Our attention has been drawn to the below email whose content and address are fake. We wish to notify our esteemed customers that our official contact centre email address is [email protected]

HELB now wants current and former students who used their service to be wary of the scam. The email has been directing HELB users to pay KSh2,200 for their accounts to be activated.
