Police is Suna East sub-County are holding a Form Two student on suspicion of killing a Class Six pupil.
The student from Nyango Mixed Secondary School in Kirengo sublocation was frog-marched to Piny Oyie Police Post by his own relatives after the crime was brought to light.
Kirengo Assistant Chief Fred Opiyo, confirming the incident, said the suspect was apprehended and handed over to the police after he had fled to his other relatives in Suna West.
According to the local administrator, the girl from Petal Academy had visited the suspect at their home on Tuesday, July 27.
On Wednesday morning, July 28, the girl’s lifeless body was discovered a few distance away from the suspect’s home. The body had head injuries.
“Investigations are still underway but it appears that the girl had visited him at their home on before being discovered dead. The head injuries were consisted with blunt force trauma,” said Opiyo.
The body was moved to Migori County Referral Hospital, awaiting an autopsy.
