President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday met ODM leader Raila Odinga and One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals at State House, Mombasa.

A close source at State House told TV47 Digital that handshake partners also Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Gideon Moi and Kalonzo Musyoka.

“Among the subjects discussed by the leaders were, Covid-19’s impact on the country and how to revamp the economy; and the importance of maintaining peace, unity and national cohesion,” State House says.

Oka Flag-bearer?

Other sources say the meeting also discussed the 2022 General Election that is fast approaching. It is reported that streamline a strong lineup that will compete favourably with Deputy President William Ruto in next year’s presidential race was on the cards.

President Uhuru has in the past urged opposition leaders to unite in order to stand a chance of forming the next government, when his second and last term ends.
