- The more, the merrier, some men say when it comes to relationships.
- Counsellor counters this, attributes it to escapism.
Marriage experts and couple of Dr. Jane and Julius Kimani agree that the overall feeling of un-fulfilment is what drives men into second marriages.
Dr. Kimani explained that men have an insatiable need for intimacy and believe getting into marriage will provide them with that. In the event they don’t get it from the first wife, “starvation” forces them to wander.
The marriage counselor also attributed this desire for a second wife to human nature.
“Human beings have a nature to want more… men want a second wife just like they acquired the first one,” he said.
Dr. Jane countered this position, saying that its a mere escape route for men.
“Men don’t want to deal with issues that are causing them discomfort in their marriage.”
