DP Ruto: “My Bottom-up approach is in Bible, Psalms 113:7-8”

In a bid to justify that the Bottom-up Approach is the only economic model that can spur Kenya to the next level, DP Ruto has come up with a holy writ explanation.

According to DP Ruto, even the Bible recognises the beauty of “bottom-up approach” in society. Ruto is now faulting his political opponents of blindly trash-talking his preferred economic approach, without giving Kenyans a tangible alternative.

“Bottom-up iko katika Bibilia. Nataka uende usome Psalms 113:7-8. Neno linasema, Mungu aliye mbinguni atamtoa mtu mnyonge mavumbini na atamfanya mtu fukara na maskini waketi meza moja na wafalme,” said DP Ruto, during a church service at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church- Gatina in Kawangware, Nairobi County.

The second in command insists that the political conversation in the country must change going into the 2022 General Election, from a few top leaders discussing about power sharing, to every Kenyan being included in transformative debates.

Raila debunks Bottom-up

ODM Leader Raila Odinga last week described DP Ruto’s was an untested economic model that is largely anchored on sloganeering to hoodwink Kenyans.

“There must be a concise, well-thought-out plan of rebuilding the economy. Our country will not afford to rely on promises built on untested economic models largely anchored on sloganeering. This hoodwinking is takataka,” he said.

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi made fun of the economic model, insisting that ensuring theft of public funds at the top leadership is the only way to save Kenya.

“To improve our economy, we need practical solutions and one such solution is to adequately fund the independent institutions like the Judiciary, Controller of Budget, the EACC and even the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

“Such institutions if well funded will help us fight corruption and save billions of shillings needed for our country’s economic growth,” said Mudavadi.
