Sonko to Mutua, Lilian: “Forgive each other and forget”

In Summary

  • Governor Alfred Mutua and Lilian Ng’ang’a agreed to go their separate ways.
  • Mike Sonko says they should talk and patch up the relationships.

Ex-Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has called on recently separated couple of Alfred Mutua and Lilian Ng’ang’a to reconcile.

Writing on social media, Sonko appealed to the pair to “forgive each other and forget.”

“The devil is a liar and he has no place in your lives. This is all about the two of you as a family, so let people talk during the day but they will all go to bed at night and life will go on. I plead with both of you, sameaneni (forgive one another) because hii ni mambo ya kidunia (these are ways of the world). Come on Lilian, think about it!!”

Yesterday, it emerged that the Machakos County power couple had agreed to go their separate ways. Writing on Instagram, Lilian said, “the only constant in life is change and we must be present and aware to appreciate and embrace it. Winds of change blew my way and two months ago, I decided to end the long-term relationship with Dr Alfred Mutua.”

“We had a good run and I am forever grateful to God he brought us together. We remain friends,” she added. Lilian served as the first lady of Machakos County.

Writing on Facebook, Mutua took a similar tone, describing Lilian as “an excellent First Lady.”

“I thank God for bringing Lillian into my life and the many ways we have made each other grow. We have had a laugh and at times a tear but all in all we have been a power couple and very happy. We celebrate life and are pleased that we have reached this decision in a mature, agreeable manner,” wrote Mutua.

Sonko’s Counsel

Following the maturity displayed in this amicable break-up, Sonko now wants the couple to patch up the relationship. “You have been with Dr. Alfred since 2011 when I was elected as MP 15 years ago, meaning you met this guy before he became Governor,” Sonko addresses Lilian. “My humble appeal to both of you please, forgive each other and forget about what transpired in your lives as a family and just agree the devil is a liar and he has no place in your lives.”

Sonko also seems to suggest where Lilian’s heart has gravitated towards: “Nawewe msanii jipe shughuli ingekuwa ni mimi ati tume differ na bibi yangu alafu the first days of our divorce unadunda nae kunihurt hio sausage yako naeza kuikata into pieces na nijipeleke police station. (And to you artiste, get busy elsewhere. If it was my case and you’re making out with my ex-wife in order to hurt me, I’d chop off your manhood and surrender to the police station)”
