There was gory drama at Konate, Nyamira County, last night when a speeding motorist hurled gunny bags from inside his car that were found to contain severed body parts.
Nyamira South sub-County Commander Moses Kirong says police have started investigations to establish the identity of the motorist and moreso the victim. The said vehicle had no registration plates.
“We have instituted investigations into the incident and we hope to unravel the murder,” Kirong is quoted as saying.
The falling thud of the two gunny bags attracted the attention of residents along the Kisii-Ikonge-Nyamira road. Curious, they opened the bags only to be met by a foul stench. The parts, which are believed to have been of a male adult were wrapped in red and black polythene bag. The head was however not among the body parts.
Amos Mariba, Nyamira County Commissioner, says sleuths from the Directorate of Criminal investigations had taken up the matter. “It’s a cold blood incident which the DCI has already instituted investigations into. We promise speedy action and the mysterious killers will be known,” Mariba said.
The body parts were taken to Nyamira County Referral Hospital as police continue investigations.
