Ride-hailing company Bolt has suspended one of its drivers involved in an altercation with riders that went viral online.
Speaking to TV47 Digital, Kevin Gitonga Ireri, alias ‘Binto’ said that his four-year-old Bolt account was suspended after the altercation with the ladies.
In the video making rounds on social media since Sunday last week, the three skimpily dressed ladies are seen harassing Gitonga. The driver had reportedly called them out for making out in his vehicle.
“They started kissing and doing all that lesbian stuff…Nikawauliza Bolt imewalipisha pesa ngapi kufanya hii vituko mnafanya kwa gari? Wakanambia wataniongezea pesa nkasema ‘I don’t tolerate such nonsense in my car’,” Binto told TV47 Digital.
Gitonga faults Bolt company
A heated argument ensued, where the ladies allegedly began recording the incident to later post it on social media. Binto resorted to the same to have his side of the story heard.
He reported the matter at Parklands Police Station and now has to bear with the cost of replacing the torn documents- including a driver’s license.
The suspended Bolt driver however says he will not press any charges against the ladies.
He is further pleading for a job, decrying the company’s action of finding fault with drivers without giving them a prior forum to be heard.
