Suspected serial killer Masten Millimo Wanjala has escaped from Jogoo Road Police Station under mysterious circumstances.
He was to be arraigned in court today over the murder of at least 12 children.
Police say that Wanjala had been apprehended at Jogoo road police station and they have no idea how he managed to escape from the cell.
The suspect was arrested by DCI detectives in July after the bodies of two missing children from Shauri Moyo estate were recovered. Upon interrogation, he confessed to killing them in cold blood.
He further led the sleuths to various crime scenes including two in Machakos County, five in Nairobi and two in Kajiado.
His last spot was in Kanduyi Constituency, Bungoma County where he uncovered the body of a nine-year-old child he had allegedly strangled in 2019.
The 20-year-old was therefore supposed to face 13 murder counts.
