Naivasha: Panic as police recover second decapitated body in one month

In Summary

  • Police in Naivasha on Tuesday recovered a decapitated body, the second in less than a month.
  • During the previous incident, unknown assailants allegedly beheaded a 42-year-old man and made away with his head.

Police in Naivasha, Nakuru County are yet to identify perpetrators behind butchering of area residents.

On Tuesday, officers in Dam Estate, Mai Mahiu were alerted to a decapitated body which has created panic among the residents.

Reports indicate that it is the second case reported in one month.

Barely three weeks ago, a 42-year-old man was allegedly beheaded by unknown assailants who dumped his body near the railway line before making away with his head.

Cause of Naivasha deaths unknown

Locals say school-going children ran back home when they stumbled upon the body on their way to school that morning.

The deceased was eventually buried without his head, after a two-week search for it proved fruitless.

In the horrific incident, police say the man was not robbed off his valuables, including a mobile phone, which were found lying next to his body along the railway line.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru assured that investigations are progressing well. However, no arrests have been made yet.

“We suspect he was killed on a revenge mission as all his personal effects including phone and some cash were not stolen,” Waweru added.
