Sisters allegedly assaulted by Ndichu twins speak out, demand quick and transparent investigations

In Summary

  • SC Philip Murgor demands for the quick investigation of Ndichu twins assault case
  • The twin brothers have stepped aside from their positions at Wapi Pay fololowing the incident

Senior Counsel Philip Murgor on Wednesday wrote to Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai concerning the alleged Saturday night attack of two sisters by the Ndichu twins.

The renowned lawyer now wants the IG to assign a special team from police headquarters to investigate the alleged assault.

Murgor revealed that the two ladies who were allegedly assaulted are his nieces. According to the former Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms. Cheryl Murgor, 24, and Ms. Stephanie Murgor, 22, were attending a wedding after-party at the Emara Lounge when they got into an altercation with Eddie Ndichu and Paul Ndichu.

“At about 2:30 am, one of the so-called “Ndichu Twin brothers” dressed in dark clothing made an improper pass at Stephanie, to which she responded, “Aren’t you the husband of Janet Mbugua?” The lady who was with the twin brothers then shouted “Ex-husband!” reads the statement.

Later, one of the brothers reportedly assaulted her “referring to her as a bitch.” Before she could blink twice, the other twin, in dark clothes, reportedly jumped on Stephanie and started choking her.

“When her boyfriend (Samuel Ramdas) attempted to rescue her, he was also grabbed by the throat. After a few seconds, he let go of the two, extremely shaken couple, but went on to threaten them by stating that he had marked their faces.”

To avoid further confrontation, the three and their friends moved to the ground floor. “As the couple went to bring the car around, the twin brothers and their lady friends appeared and allegedly broke both side mirrors before they started assaulting Cheryl.”

Upon the police intervening, both parties came to an agreement that the twins would pay Samuel for the car damage. One of the brothers sent him KSh110,000 via M-pesa but he allegedly reversed the transaction later.

The victims reported the incident at Akila Police Station and they were issued with P3 forms.

The statement continues; “While the IG Hillary Mutyambai has given an assurance that the incident will be fully investigated, on our part, due to the alleged influence and power the perpetrators are supposed to wield, we demand that the IG assign the investigation to a special team at police headquarters, who should ensure that the investigations are complete as soon as possible, and forwarded to the ODPP, for the prosecution of the Ndichu twins.”

The twin brothers are bigwigs in the technology industry but they were forced to step aside from their positions of Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director in Wapi Pay Company. They are the company’s co-founders.
