Detectives pursue knife-wielding gang terrorising Gilgil residents

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives based in Gilgil, Nakuru, are tracking a criminal gang operating across the county, that has been beating up members of the public before robbing them of their valuables.

According to the DCI, after roughing up their victims, the dreaded knife-wielding gang proceeds to bundle them in a white Toyota Noah.

“The four-member gang singles out their targets, blindfold and tie them up in the vehicle and dump them a distance away after stealing from them,” says the detectives.

Detectives reveal recent robberies

On Saturday morning, a man in Gilgil who was waiting for matatu by the roadside was abducted and bundled into the said vehicle. The gang stole his shopping and cash as well as his bank ATM cards.

After revealing the pin numbers for the ATM cards, he was hurled from the moving vehicles at Kariandusi areas. Passersby rescued him and he went to report the matter to the police.

The DCI is urging members of the public to be on the lookout for the suspects and should report any information that would lead to the apprehension of the gang.
