Man arrested for allegedly killing ‘room mate’ at lodging

A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting dead another man at a lodging in Seaview, Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.

Police Spokesman Colonel Thembeka Mbele says the two had an altercation at Durban Lodge where they had booked into on Monday evening.

The lodging offers ‘adult acommodation’, meaning occupants use the space for less than 10 hours.

‘Deceased found naked in lodging’

“It is alleged that on Monday at 5:10pm, two men booked into a lodge. An argument broke out and a 36-year-old male victim was shot multiple times in the body. He was declared dead on the scene,” Mbele adds.

Witnesses claim the deceased was found naked at the scene, although investigations are yet to establish circumstances around the incident.

On spotting the police, the murder suspect attempted to flee on foot by jumping out of the window. He however sustained injuries and had to be rushed to hospital by the security officers.
