Police officers in Mandera have rescued a 14-year-old boy from burning to death in a case of arson.
According to DCI, the Class Seven pupil at Kamor Primary School was lured into the house by his brothers identified as Ibrahim Ahmed and Yusuf Ahmed unaware of their intentions.
The rolled up the boy in a mattress soaked in petrol, lit it and fled.
Boy’s “killers” on the loose
Officers in the area noticed the fire and rushed to the scene, only to find the victim ablaze.
“The pupil had been accused of being a witness in a case that his brother Ibrahim Ahmed, was accused of stealing a mobile phone,” DCI says.
He was rushed to Mandera County Hospital bearing serious injuries. Meanwhile, detectives have launched a manhunt for the two “killer” brothers.
