“They want us to vacate,” owners of Kayole carwash raided by 40 thugs reveal

In Summary

  • A week ago, a gang comprised of about 40 people raided a Kayole carwash, destroyed property and injuring workers.
  • Its owners claim they have been receiving threats from the suspects, who want them to vacate the premises altogether.

Two businessmen in Kayole, Embakasi East are living in fear following a string of malicious attacks from armed thugs who want their premises closed.

Ken Mubabu and co-owner Joseph Ndung’u are counting huge losses after a gang of 40 members forced their way into their carwash premises based in Sosiani estate leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

The one-hour-long ambush saw seven workers get seriously injured by the assailants who were armed with machetes and wooden clubs ‘rungus’.

Speaking to TV47 on Thursday, the owners say the business is now paralyzed with some cars vandalized and various equipment missing.

“The first time they stole some machines and carpets, “said Mubabu.

“Arrest of the gang is imminent”

Joseph Wambugu Njiru, Embakasi East sub County police commander said they will soon be arraigning the perpetrators.
