Over 1,000 students of Tenges High School in Baringo Central went on a rampage on Saturday night protesting what they term as “unfavourable” school routines.
The students walked out of the school before walking to Kabarnet town, a 30-kilometre journey, and finally assembling at Kabarnet Stadium.
They then forced their way into Kabarnet education offices to give their grievances.
According to the students, they are tired of being woken up at 4 am, a time when teachers are asleep, instead of 7 am.
Additionally, the students say they are not happy with the transfer of their school principal, demanding his return.
No educational officer spoke to the media as the students reportedly threatened to deal with them if they spoke.
