Police arrest 18-year-old man for “killing” brother, 43, over beehive inheritance

Police in Mogotio, Baringo County are holding an 18-year-old man who allegedly killed his elder brother over beehives.

According to DCI, the suspect, Alex Kalemaa Kiptoi shot his brother, Joseph Kipsingor Kiptoi, 43, with an arrow.

Beehives Share

The two had an altercation over an apiary left by their late father. Alex was reportedly unhappy after the deceased took up the lion’s share, amassing over 40 beehives.

“Angered by his elder brother whom he accused of denying him his rightful share of his inheritance, Alex shot him with an arrow on his right thigh and left him to bleed to death,” DCI adds.

The incident has left locals of Kapndasum Village in Koitumet Sub Location shocked.

Detectives documented the scene and receovered exhibits that will come in handy in the case.

The deceased’s body is lying at a mortuary in Eldama Ravine Town.
