Jua Cali’s wife slams MC for striking off his name from list of performers at lucrative political event

In Summary

  • According to Lilly, the perpetrator is a close friend to her husband.
  • This comes after Juacali told off comedian Eric Omondi for controversial comments on the Kenyan music industry.

Lilly Asigo, the wife of popular Genge artist Paul Julius Nunda alias Jua Cali, has called out an emcee for allegedly striking off her husband’s name from a list of invited artists scheduled to perform at a political event.

Asigo says Jua Cali was called and briefed about a political launch that he was meant to be a part of. In addition, he was provided with the list of the rest of the artists that would be performing at the event.

She took to Instagram saying, “….Behold the Mc, they approached took over the event and Chopped his name plus two other Legends off the list because he wanted to have people he can control or people that will feel he has REALLY helped them on the list.”

Alluding to the fact that the perpetrator is a close friend with the ‘Tokema’ hitmaker, Asigo added: “… People who shamelessly laugh with you then stab you in the back!”

Jua Cali blasts Omondi

This comes after Jua Cali blasted comedian Eric Omondi, advising him to “stick to his lane” following his controversial comments on the Kenyan music industry.

“It is utter DISGRACE that our musicians have become mere Curtain raisers for international acts.  In Less than two weeks we had Etana, Omahley and Konshens on his way. Where are the Kenyan CONCERTS????” Eric had said on the Bonga na Jalas Show.

In a video on Instagram, Juacali said that the Kenyan music industry had come a long way and it is normal to have ups and downs. He also added that the use of social media has heavily impacted the local music industry.

He slammed the comedian and told him to desist from speaking on matters involving local musicians and to stick to matters within his field.
