ODM leader Raila Odinga, has dissociated himself and his party from the chaos witnessed in Kisumu yesterday when his political nemesis William Ruto toured the area.

Speaking on Musyi FM today, Raila said that the Deputy President is free to visit any part of the country and sell his political ideologies to Kenyans.

The former Prime Minister added that prior to DP Ruto’s visit the Kisumu ODM branch had issued a statement saying that the Deputy president was free to visit.

Raila in Eldoret

During the interview, the ODM leader referenced his rally in Eldoret (DP Ruto’s political home turf) where he was welcomed.

Shortly after yesterday’s chaos in which stones were hurled onto Ruto’s motorcade, the DP Ruto said: “Our plans and programmes will ensure that the youth are liberated from regressive stone-throwing culture by engaging them in gainful activities that will better their lives through the Bottom-Up Economic Model.”

Police used teargas to restore order as Ruto proceed to Migori where he was hosted by Governor Okoth Obado.
