Grief and shock engulfed Kahuro residents in Murang’a County on Monday morning after their assistant chief allegedly committed suicide in his office.
The body of Kahuro Sublocation Assistant Chief Patrick Macharia was found dangling from the rooftop of his office by members of the public who had gone to seek government services.
Business at Kahuro market came to a halt following the death of the local administrator, as residents flocked his office to see what had transpired.

A team of sleuths has been dispatched to investigate the incident.
According to Murang’a County Investigation Officer Daniel Kandie, initial investigations indicate that the administrator has been threatening to commit suicide. The motive of his action is yet to be established.
His body has been moved to Muriranja District Mortuary.
