- Governor Kananu was sworn in as Nairobi Governor on Novermber 16.
- Sonko has denied claims he is defaming Governor Kananu.
Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu has obtained a court order barring Mike Sonko from posting any leaked audio, video or any material about her on social media.
This comes two days after Sonko, former Nairobi governor, shared a video on social media, where a lady identified as Merry Nkatha allegedly revealed Governor Kananu’s plot against Sonko.
Nkatha, who was allegedly Sonko’s informant and Kananu’s close confidant, was featured revealing progress of the case against Court of Appeal judge Said Chitembwe. Chitembwe was among the sitting judges during the petition made by Sonko to block Kananu’s swearing-in as Governor.
It appears however that the said lady was coerced into exposing the county’s top boss if her statement at Karen Police Station is anything to go by.
“Nkatha claims she gave the information to me under duress, noting that the same are video telecon conversations,” stated the police statement under registration OB14/21/11/21.
The ousted governor however maintained that the information provided was legit, claiming Nkatha has been his informant for the past 10 months.
On Thursday, video clips of a woman dancing naked at a nightclub surfaced, with speculation that the former Governor shared them on social media.
“There are some characters who are still taking advantage of my expose on the rot in the Kenyan Judiciary to divert attention by creating unnecessary clips and fake stories. If I want to release anything I will do it through my official verified FB account. Which I will continue doing once the gagging order against me is lifted,” the politician asserted on Friday.
There has been a scuffle between the two, as Sonko raised petitions to block Governor Kananu from being sworn in as the county’s top boss which were all quashed.
