- Samir Nyundo resigned as Kilifi County ODM Youth League chairman in August this year, to supervise the PAA member recruitment drive.
- Governor Kingi insists that PAA is a party for the people, dismissing those claiming that he has not consulted widely over its formation.
A section of Members of the Kilifi County Assembly (MCAs) has disputed the Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) leadership structure saying that they were not involved in the appointment and selection of party officials.
The PAA party has Governor Amason Kingi as its party leader while Samir Nyundo as the National Youth League leader, a move that has angered some youth and MCAs from Kilifi County.
The MCAs now want the party to hold internal elections as opposed to the current situation where leaders have been imposed on them.
Recently, Kingi graced the PAA Youth League Convention where more than 500 youth from all 35 sub counties of Kilifi attended.
Led by Shimo la Tewa MCA Sammy Ndago, the leaders threatened that they may abandon the party if party elections are not held.
Tezo ward MCA Thomas Chengo echoed the same sentiments saying that the youths and women should be given an opportunity to elect their own officials.
