A man makes advances to a woman at a party. The lady turns him down and instead, opts to have consensual sex with one of the man’s friends. But as she faced wall in a dark room, the same man she had rejected poses as the friend to rape her.

This is what happened in Manchester city, England. A 29-year-old accountant accused of raping a woman at a house party has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.

The Manchester Crown Court heard that the woman, 21, had earlier turned down Ibraheem Egunbambi sexual advances.

On the fateful day, the woman was out with a friend in Manchester city centre when they met Egunbambi and his two male friends.

Egunbambi had reportedly tried to kiss the woman but she rebuffed his advances. After the group went to one of the men’s property in Moston following the night out in CBD, the woman decided to have sex with one of Egunbambi friend’s.

“But while she was facing the wall in the dark bedroom of the home, Egunbambi raped her, pretending to be the friend who had been having sex with her.

“She quickly realised it was a different man and turned on the light to see it was Egunbambi, who she had earlier turned down,” reports British outlet Daily Mail.

The court also heard that when the woman realised it was Egunbambi, she told him to stop and he did.

Victim reports raping incident immediately

The woman immediately left the house and reported what had befall her to the police.

In an act of shamelessness, Egunbambi reportedly claimed it was ‘just a bit of fun’, but a jury found him guilty of rape.

“It was not just a bit of fun,’ Judge Patrick Field QC told him.

“This was a nasty, disrespectful and unpleasant violation of a young woman.”

An economics graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University, he has been jailed for four-and-a-half years for the rape which occurred in December 2018.
