Kisii man accused of killing heavily pregnant wife detained for two weeks

A man who allegedly killed his seven months pregnant wife will remain in police custody for two weeks, the Kisii Senior Resident Magistrate Paul Mutai has ruled.

Lucas Bosire, the middle-aged suspect from Igonga in Kisii South sub-County, did not take a plea when he was arraigned before the Kisii Law Courts on Wednesday.

Magistrate Mutai directed that he be detained for two weeks before his case is mentioned on January 27 2021.

Lucas Bosire, the man suspected of killing his heavily pregnant wife in Igonga village in Kisii South sub-County, being escorted to Kisii Law Courts by police officers.

Bosire allegedly hit his wife – Everlyne Kerubo, 36 – with a plank of wood on the back of her head, killing her on the spot.

Irate area residents attacked the suspect and attempted to lynch him before he was rescued by the police.

The suspect who had bandages on his head and feet is being held at Gesongo Police Station.
