A woman who was looking for a suitor has been stuck in the house of a blind date after an abrupt COVID-19 lockdown.
The woman only identified as Ms Wang shared her tribulations in Chinese social media platform WeChat.
She had travelled from the city of Guangzhou to Zhengzhou for a meal with her potential lover ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
“I’m getting quite old, so my parents arranged more than 10 blind dates for me,” she Ms Wang wrote in one of the posts. The date in question was the fifth, and he had said he “was good at cooking, and invited me to his house so he could cook a meal”.
Abrupt Lockdown With Blind Date
It was while they were enjoying the meal that she learnt her date’s city had gone into lockdown due to rising cases of Covid-19.
Ms Wang told Schezhan TV that the situation was “not ideal” though her date cooked every day for her while they were stranded together.
She said the man was “as mute as a wooden mannequin,” the food “mediocre”.
It is unclear whether Ms Wang still is still stuck at her date’s house since cases of Covid-19 have been on the rise in Zhengzhou in recent past.
