A 31-year-old actress who posted a naked photo of herself on social media beside her son has been jailed for three months. A court in Ghana this week convicted Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, following her prosecution in a case championed by Child Rights International (CRI). Nairobi residents were last night caught unawares by curfew-enforcement roadblocks abruptly erected by police. Along Thika Road, the roadblock caused a traffic snarl-up that stretched from the NYS drift all the way to Pangani. Other road blocks were mounted at Kayole Junction, Wilson Airport,  Lang’ata Road, Mwiki, Kasarani, Junction Mall, Coptic Hospital, Arboretum, Ruai, Utawala, Two Rivers and at Kenyatta University Hospital.  The police were enforcing the 8pm-4am curfew in Nairobi. A man has been arrested in Kabartonjo, Baringo North, while donning a skirt allegedly with the intention of raping a woman AP officer. Police in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County have arrested a secondary school principal after he was allegedly found engaging in a sexual act with a Form Four girl at his house. Kenya has recorded 981 new cases of coronavirus. A sample size of 7,529 was tested in the last 24 hours. The country’s positivity rate now stands at 13%. Of the 981 cases, 961 are Kenyans while 20 are foreigners. Men are 563 while the rest are women. In terms of age, the youngest is only seven days old while the oldest is 97 years. Health CS Mutahi Kagwe says the cumulative positive cases are 148,128. In total, Kenya has conducted 1,578,773 tests. The nationwide curfew currently in place to stem the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic will end on May 29, 2021. Interior CS Fred Matiang’i says in a Gazette Notice (dated April 12) that this applies to both the marked out counties (Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos and Nakuru) and the rest of the country. Residents of Gaichanjiru area in Kandara sub-county, Murang’a, are calling on police to apprehend a gang of youths that has been terrorizing them for months. Kelyn Spadoni from the U.S state of Louisiana bought a house and a brand new 2021 Hyundai Genesis sports utility car. Thanks to a software glitch, Spadoni received the windfall from her brokerage firm Charles Schwab last February.
