An activist accused of authoring and distributing posters of President Uhuru Kenyatta during an uproar by Kenyans over the International Monetary Fund(IMF) loan to Kenya has been freed. Edwin Kiama was released on Tuesday, April 20 by Milimani Law Court Senior Resident Magistrate Jane Kamau. Police in Imenti South, Meru County have arrested a man for allegedly hacking his daughter to death, and seriously injuring his wife. Boniface Murithi, a tea farmer, got into a fight with his wife Mary Nchabira, 31, on Saturday. He reportedly cut her arm with a panga and slashed her stomach, leaving her intestines exposed. Two police officers were seriously injured after a lorry enroute Nairobi hit their truck along Thika Road on Monday night. Geoffrey Sigolia suffered an injury on his left leg, while his Joseph Kiminda fractured his right leg and part of his skull.
