President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence and comfort to the Mudavadi family following the death of Mama Hannah Atsianzale Mudavadi. Mrs Mudavadi, 92, is the widow of the late Cabinet Minister Moses Mudamba Mudavadi and the mother of former Vice President Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi. Kenyan motorists can now run their cars using a hybrid system of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) and petrol/diesel. A new conversion system also enables them to switch between the two at their own convenience. Motorists Association of Kenya (MAK) says the system converts a conventional combustion engines in about five hours. The cost of running a car on LPG is KSh60 per litre, against the current Ksh106.82 for petrol and Ksh91.82 for diesel (Nairobi prices). “As an association we can, this way, force the prices of petrol to come down,” says MAK. Independent Candidate Feisal Bader has clinched the Msambweni parliamentary seat beating ODM’s Omar Boga. According to IEBC provisional results, Feisal Bader garnered 15, 251 votes against ODM’s Omar Boga 10,444 votes from 129 polling stations. Bader who was fronted by the Tangatanga wing of Jubilee alliance took an early lead and maintained it throughout the vote tallying process. Kenya will open its consulate in Hargeisa, the capital of Somaliland, by end of March 2021, amid broken relationship with Somali. In a bold move that comes hours after Somalia cut ties with Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Somaliland counterpart Muse Bihi made the announcement. The number of COVID-19 cases in Kenya has risen to 92,459 after 404 people tested positive for the virus. The Ministry of Health says that the new cases were detected from 4,878 samples that were tested between Monday and Tuesday. The cumulative number of samples that have been tested in the country so far stands at 978,683. “From the cases, 364 are Kenyans while 40 are foreigners. 266 are males and 138 are females. The number of COVID-19 cases in Kenya has risen to 92,055 after 163 people tested positive for the virus. The Ministry of Health says 2,283 tests were conducted between Sunday and Monday.
