Google is hiring over 100 Kenyans; this is how to apply

Google has opened its first-ever Africa product development centre in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.

This is in a bid to position itself to serve a growing base of internet users on the continent.⁣

Consequently, Suzanne Frey (Vice President, products) and Nitin Gajria (the head of Google Africa) in a joint blog post on Tuesday announced over 100 vacancies.

The tech giant will be hiring engineers, product managers, user experience designers and researchers to staff the new centre.

“We’re looking for talented, creative, and collaborative people who can help solve difficult and important technical challenges, such as improving the smartphone experience for people in Africa, or building products that will help everyone to thrive together,” a statement from the company reads in part.

Kenyans are advised to visit the career section on their website to apply for jobs. Requirements and job descriptions for every job are described on the site.

Google opened an AI and research centre in Ghana in 2019. The KSh115 billion centre based in Nairobi is now Google’s second big research and development investment in Africa.⁣
