If elections were to be held today, ODM’s Gideon Mung’aro would clinch the Kilifi Gubernatorial seat, this is according to an opinion poll by Mizani Africa.
The poll released on Saturday, May 14 morning shows Mung’aro leading the coastal county gubernatorial race, with a popularity rating of 42.4%.
United Democratic Alliance’s (UDA) Aisha Jumwa comes second at 35.2%, while Pamoja African Alliance’s (PAA) George Kithii comes a distant third with an 18.9% rating.
The poll also shows that 2.2% of Kilifi County voters are still undecided three months to the August 9 General Election.
In Kiambu County, UDA’s Paul Kimani Wamatangi is leading the gubernatorial race, enjoying a popularity rating of 34.2%. Former Governor William Kabogo, who is the Tujibebe Wakenya Party candidate, is second with a 22.3% rating.
Kabogo is followed closely by the incumbent, Jubilee Party’s James Nyoro at 21.5%.
The poll also indicates that former Governor Hussein Dado is giving incumbent Dhadho Godhana Gaddae a run for his money in the Tana River gubernatorial race.
Although ODM’s Governor Dhadho is leading with 31.3%, Dado comes second at 29.4%. Three percent of Tana River voters are still undecided going into the August 9 polls.
